Foreign Policy — Digital Engagement Platform
Designing for Growth: Subscriptions, Retention, and Performance
Subscription and engagement uplift via rebuilt flows, accessibility, and performance work.
Situation
Foreign Policy needed to modernize its digital presence to increase subscriptions and engagement with its global readership.

Task
As part of a flat dev team, I took leadership on frontend initiatives to rebuild the subscription flow, optimize performance, and make content more engaging.

Action
Rebuilt subscription services in React + Angular. Redesigned onboarding using A/B testing + data-driven UX. Drove accessibility compliance (WCAG 2.1 AA/AAA). Optimized global performance with lazy loading + CDN distribution. Mentored peers on frontend best practices and modern tooling.

Result
The result: a 40% increase in subscriptions, 25% higher retention, and 35% faster performance — proof that invisible design can deliver visible business impact.
